The Memorial Picnic will be held for the fifth time at its customary location at Delta Lake State Park in Rome, while the JayCW Golf Tournament kicks off for the fourth time at three-year host Rome Country Club. Both events have grown consistently in participation and quality every year, and the planners of the Picnic and Tournament are working hard to add value and variety to both events.

With the events scheduled on a holiday weekend, people will have to make difficult decisions about the best use of their time. Entering our fifth event year, we realized there will always be a reason not to attend, no matter what date is chosen. We want to see a park pavilion and golf course filled to capacity... but more importantly to gather a group, large or small, always with a reason to attend, no matter what date is chosen. We would do a disservice in making Fund activities an obligation or burden, while intending to honor the name of an individual that absolutely refused to be either.
